About Us

Satara has a great historic importance in the history of Maharashtra as well as India. This city is known for the capital city of The Great Maratha Empire and for Great Saints, Forts, Soldiers, Heritage Sites and Environment.

Satara also has a glorious history of Rotary movement, which started in Pre Independence era, when the first club not only in Satara district but in India i.e. Rotary Club of Satara started on 21st July 1944. Along with this oldest club, other various clubs in Satara have imparted huge resources to serve the humanity and have created a benchmark in Rotary Service.

To proceed with the Rotary movement, seven Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Satara Camp expressed their will of having one more club as the need of Satara city as compared with the population. After due discussions and thoughtful conclusions, seven Rotarians decided to start a new Club. As Seven Rotarians took lead to start this club and as Satara city is situated in seven Hills of Sahyadri Mountains Range, it was decided to call the new Club with the name as Rotary Club of Satara 7 Hills. Rotary Club of Satara Camp appointed Rtn. Sachin Shelke as GSR for this new Club & Rtn. Sandeep Kothawale became the Charter President and Rtn. Ketan Tanksale became the Charter Secretary of the new club. The Charter of the new Club was received on 15th July 2020.
